Pipeline detectors
Installed between the filler and the clipper, or directly after the stuffer. The detector inspects the product before it is packed, and an automatic valve or piston diverts the contaminated portion without stopping the line.

Basic sensitivity figures apply under reference conditions. Salted emulsion and larger pipe diameters both reduce what is achievable — which is why we confirm on the actual product before quoting a critical limit.
1,5 Zoll bis 10 Zoll, mit Auswurfsystem
Search aperture and pipe diameter for the standard sizes. 5", 6", 8" and 10" are built to order — we make the detectors ourselves, so a non-standard diameter is an engineering job rather than a refusal.
| Size | Search aperture | Pipe diameter | Typical application |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2" | Ø90 mm | 51 mm | Fine emulsion, pâté, small-calibre sausage, dairy |
| 2.5" | Ø90 mm | 62 mm | Fine emulsion, small-calibre sausage |
| 3" | Ø120 mm | 76 mm | General sausage production, minced meat, sauces |
| 4" | Ø140 mm | 100 mm | Coarse product, higher throughput |

Smaller pipe means better sensitivity. If the detector can sit where the line is narrower — before a manifold rather than after, for instance — the detection improves measurably at no extra equipment cost. Worth checking at the design stage.
Between filler and clipper, or straight after the stuffer
The typical setup is a pipeline detector, a vacuum filler and an automatic reject. The unit fits most sausage fillers — Vemag, Handtmann and Risco among them — and can be supplied with the connection standard your line already uses. A filler electrical connector ties the two machines together so filling and rejection stay synchronised instead of being timed by hand.
The frame adjusts in both height and filling angle with an integrated gas spring, so one person can reposition it, and a mobile version on wheels is available where the unit has to be moved for cleaning. Self-surveillance, data logging and integrated relays come as standard, with RS232/RS485 for data and control and digital inputs for program change from the line.
- Reject collection bucket — diverted product lands in a dedicated container instead of on the floor, and it can be locked where the detector is a CCP
- Stainless steel piston for dense product, or a Teflon piston and product tube for temperatures above 100 °C
- Test port in the product flow, so test pieces go into the stream itself rather than being held against the outside of the pipe
Wet inside and out, low to the floor
A pipeline detector is cleaned internally by CIP and externally by high-pressure washdown, and it usually sits low in the plant where water collects. That is the harshest position a detector can occupy.
Our pipeline units are built in 3 mm 304 stainless with IP68/IP69K versions available, and they are vibration-free by construction — which matters, because movement in the coil's own field produces false rejects that look like a detection problem but are not.
