We test your product — and you keep the documentation

Sensitivity cannot be stated meaningfully without knowing the product. Send us a sample and we will measure what can actually be detected in your product, your packaging and at your temperature.

You receive a written test report. You can use it — including if you end up buying elsewhere.

What you get an answer toSmallest detectable sphere

FeEisenhaltig. Magnetisch. Am einfachsten zu detektieren.

SSEdelstahl 316/304. Das härteste und am häufigsten verwendete Metall in Lebensmittelbetrieben.

The report states the smallest test sphere in ferrous, non-ferrous and stainless steel that can be reliably detected in your product — and what proportion of good product is rejected in the process.

How it works

Four steps

1. You send a sampleA representative product in the packaging it ends up in. If you produce both frozen and chilled versions, send both — they behave differently in the detector's field.
2. We testWe run the product through the detector types relevant to your line, with test pieces in ferrous, non-ferrous and stainless steel in several sizes. We keep several test lines running as standard.
3. You get a reportA written report describing the equipment, the test conditions, the false reject rate and the probability of detection. We will record a short video of the test if you want something to show internally.
4. We go through it togetherOnline or on site. We tell you honestly what is realistic — including when the answer is that a metal detector is not the right tool for your application.

You are also welcome to come to Støvring and watch. Many customers prefer that, because you can ask questions as you go and see for yourself what happens when the sensitivity is turned up.

Why is it free? Because it is the fastest way to find out whether we can help you. We would rather spend a couple of hours on a test than send a quotation for a machine that does not solve your problem. And a real figure on your own product is more convincing than anything we could write in a brochure.

What the report contains

  • Equipment description — which detector and which aperture were used
  • Test conditions — product, packaging, temperature, speed and orientation
  • Probability of detection — how reliably the test piece is found, broken down by material and size
  • False reject rate — what proportion of good product is rejected at that setting
  • Assessment — what we recommend, and anything that should change on the line

The report is your document. We do not use it for anything other than advising you properly.

Using it for your HACCP plan? The report gives you a defensible basis for the critical limit — which is exactly what an auditor asks for when they want to know how the figure was arrived at. See HACCP and BRCGS.
